Forest Gump has a great scene in it with gary sinease - the one where he wont let anyone salute him cause it will make him a target
 

got to be platoon for me im affraid closely followed by we were soldiers,platoon was different.
 
oliver stone who was there,took all these hollywood stars to vietnam,made them eat sleep and work like the real thing.
 
they had no showers,no restarunts,no maids,butlers etc....just the nam after 2 weeks of this,they experienced what it was like to be there.
 
if you get the special adition its in the extras section....good to watch if you are interested.
 
 
i agree that it was over the top in places,but war has its hero's and villians!

i watched platoon last night again.. man was tom beringer a prick in that flick ..i liked him in the movie sniper anyone seen that? it had some cool sniper scenes if you havent seen it try and rent it

yep, and sniper 3 which was just a $$ grabbing idea i think, they kinda milked it for all it was worth by the end of the 2nd one.
 
bought Hamburger Hill on DVD few weeks back, and my god, its a good movie, doesnt take sides or doesnt represent anti-war crap, just tells a story, watch it yall!

yeah i saw that few years ago, they hyped it up on tv that George Clooney was a major star in the movie, he was in it for like 2 minutes!  
 
theres a heap of good WW2 movies out there, alot of good 1s came out of the 70s - 80's like Dirty dozen, Big red 1, A Brigde too far (i think its called  ) and heaps others

I loved platoon for vietnam, WW2 as to be Saving private Ryan and Black hawk down for modern time.

I like all this film, but for me Apocalypse Now is the most beatiful.

And it's still just as good as it was then!
